SWEDISH TOP OF THE LINE JAZZ GUITARIST

Erik Söderlind, guitar; Kjell Öhman, Hammond organ; Magnus Lindgren, tenor saxophone, flute; Martin Sjöstedt, double bass; Moussa Fadera, drums.

Erik Söderlind, born 1981, learned to play guitar listening to heroes such as Eric Clapton and BB King. He was also influenced by Wes Montgomery, George Benson and Grant Green. Eric's guitar style is firmly rooted in the traditional guitar jazz style but he has his own personal sound as well.

2001 Erik moved to Stockholm where he studied at the Royal College of Music. Since he graduated he has quickly become one of the most sought-after young jazz guitarist in Sweden. 2007 he got the prestigeous Hagström scholarship. The same year he was nominated for the Guitar People Prize.

Today Erik is a freelance guitarist. He has been to Japan, South Africa, France, Italy and Dubai. He has played with Jojje Wadenius (former Blood, Sweat & Tears member), Viktoria Tolstoy, Peter Asplund, Rigmor Gustafsson and many other great Swedish pop and jazz musicians.

On his Prophone dèbut he really shows that he is a great solo artist. He is backed up by the best Swedish Hammond player Kjell Öhman and other top of the line jazz musicians.

The CD includes both original tunes and jazz standards such as Polka Dots and Moonbeams, Shadow of Your Smile and Willow Weep for Me. This is music from the 50's and 60's with a bluesy touch.

Don't miss this extraordinary guitarist who's already a part of the Swedish jazz elite!
